“Circles” is a hand-cut collage layered between acrylic panels that emerges as an aesthetically charged commentary on the act of censorship. These shapes act as visual redactions, commanding attention while denying information, leaving the viewer to question the nature of what lies beneath. The creation of "Circles" was a journey requiring four intricate attempts to perfect. The choice to encase the artwork within a wooden frame went beyond mere necessity for structure—it was a deliberate aesthetic decision that harmonizes the organic with the human form. The contrasting materials brought challenges: wood's solidity against acrylic's give led to rippling in the paper, which detracted from the intended aesthetic. Through trial and error, each attempt brought me closer to the balance I sought, until the final effort yielded a piece free from the unintended textures, a testament to the meticulous nature of my craft.
